WordPress

Wordpress is a free and versatile CMS. It is simple for beginners to use and not only creates easy to build, manageable pages but it also creates fully functioning websites. (Fact: Google, Sony and CNN, amongst others, use Word Press to power their websites)

Building a Wordpress Site does not require knowledge of PHP or HTML, as opposed to Joomla, Drupal or Typo3 so any novice can build a website on Wordpress, plus there is a large support community so there is always online communication and assistance with other Wordpress fundi’s to assist each step of the way.

Wordpress provides a fantastic blogging platform should this play a big part in your web development.

A downfall of Wordpress is that is is not a protected script so be careful if you have sensitive information you’d like to keep safe.

With all the above in mind, if you are looking for a simple, affordable “brochure” site, Wordpress will suffice, however if you are  looking for a phenomenal, jaw-dropping, secure website, incorporating CSS and HTML, choosing Wordpress may not be your first option, but instead going with the likes of Joomla or Drupal
